ERSCP Society Holds 2025 General Assembly in Prague: New Initiatives, Awards, and Future Plans Announced

On 16 September 2025 in Prague, the European Roundtable for Sustainable Consumption and Production (ERSCP) Society held its annual General Assembly. Chair Frieder Rubik and Vice-Chair Sylvia Lorek welcomed 16 participants and thanked the local host of the ERSCP25 conference, Pavel Ruzika.

Key outcomes of the General Assembly:

  • Treasurer Annelise de Jong reported an anticipated positive balance by end of 2025.
  • On the board: Svenja Damberg was unanimously elected as Early Career Member. Frieder Rubik was approved as Chair; outgoing Chair Jaco Quist (2017-24) received thanks for his leadership.
  • The next major event, ERSCP27, is planned for Lisbon (22 June PhD Day; 23-25 June conference) organised by National Laboratory of Energy and Geology (LNEG) and NOVA University of Lisbon.
  • Future initiatives include webinars, a society handbook and increased archival of documents. Member-driven project proposals and broader geographic expansion (especially beyond the Balkans) were discussed.
  • The society’s website (erscp.eu) was relaunched with a new layout, blog and LinkedIn feed.
  • The recent PhD Day (15 Sept) drew 18 students with very positive feedback, and will continue at upcoming conferences.
  • A new Best Paper Award, introduced by Maria Csutora, was awarded to Katharina Berger, Josef P.‑Schöggl and Rupert Baumgartner for their article Digital battery passports to enable circular and sustainable value chains.
  • The society affirmed collaborations with SCORAI Global, SCORAI Europe and will support the International Sustainable Energy Conference (ISEC).
